In Week 4 of the project, the focus was on creating a matte painting background for compositing in Nuke. The objective was to create a large, undistorted matte with a modern and sci-fi feel while catching up with the schedule.
Multiple cityscapes were combined to form the basic background, with a blue and green color scheme used to enhance the overall tone. A foreground cityscape projected on a plane was initially attempted but eventually abandoned in favor of a more natural look. Tests were done in Maya, with some initial issues with the camera movement exported from Unreal eventually resolved.
