As a 3D VFX artist, I am always looking for ways to improve my skills and push the boundaries of what I can create. One area I decided to focus on recently was my traditional art skills. I took on the challenge of creating still life sketches, and it was a rewarding experience that taught me so much.

Key Features and Improvements

One of the key features of still life sketches is that they require a great deal of observation and attention to detail. This translates well into my work as a 3D artist, where I must pay close attention to lighting, textures, and other small details that bring a scene to life.

Another improvement I noticed was in my ability to create depth and perspective in my artwork. By studying still life setups and focusing on how objects relate to one another, I was able to better understand how to create a sense of space and depth in my 3D scenes.

Finally, I found that the act of drawing still life sketches helped to improve my hand-eye coordination, which is crucial in both traditional and digital art.

The still life sketches I drew with pencils were a departure from my usual digital work, but I found the experience to be incredibly valuable. It was refreshing to step away from the computer and focus on creating something with my hands. I started by setting up simple still life arrangements using everyday objects like fruits, flowers, and vases.
