As a compositor on the Apple TV series Before (2024), I played a key role in shaping the series’ emotionally rich and visually immersive world, blending elements of nostalgia and futuristic technology. Working alongside legendary actors Billy Crystal and Judith Light, I collaborated closely with the visual effects team to seamlessly integrate crucial visual elements into the story, enhancing its poignant exploration of memory, time, and human connection.

The story follows Eli Adler (Billy Crystal), a child psychiatrist who, after tragically losing his wife to suicide, encounters a troubled young boy who appears to have a haunting connection to Eli’s past. My primary responsibility was CG element integration, particularly focusing on AI face replacement effects. These effects were pivotal in reconstructing key moments from Eli’s past, allowing us to convey the emotional depth of his journey through time, memory, and loss.

In addition to face replacement, I handled blue screen removal and background extension, ensuring that the settings around Eli and the young boy were immersive and visually cohesive, even during the more intense and surreal moments. By paying meticulous attention to detail, I helped create a visual experience that reinforced the story’s haunting yet heartfelt exploration of grief, healing, and the connections that transcend time.
