As a compositor on Marvel Studios’ Thunderbolts (2024), I played a key role in shaping the film’s action-packed sequences and visually stunning world. Working alongside a talented ensemble cast that includes Florence Pugh, Sebastian Stan, Wyatt Russell, and Julia Louis-Dreyfus, I collaborated closely with the visual effects team to seamlessly integrate crucial elements into the story, enhancing the high-stakes action and emotional arcs of the characters.
Thunderbolts follows a team of antiheroes and former villains, brought together by government agent Valentina Allegra de Fontaine (Julia Louis-Dreyfus), to undertake covert missions that the U.S. government wants to keep off the books. The film explores the characters’ struggle with redemption, loyalty, and the blurred lines between heroism and villainy, all set against a backdrop of explosive action and complex moral dilemmas.
My primary responsibility for this film was clean-up, roto paint, and vanity effects, particularly on the hero sequences. This involved digitally enhancing the appearances of the key characters in critical moments, ensuring their visual integrity was perfect while maintaining the action’s intensity and realism. I also focused on enhancing the final look of various sequences through meticulous attention to detail, balancing technical precision with the stylistic flair typical of the Marvel Universe.
